AS SEEN ON:  EndlessBeauty.com

Nothing captures a heart more universally than the angelic, glowy, ethereal beauty captured in the Classic Hollywood movies which was so wonderfully celebrated this season on the Golden Globes red carpet by celebrities like Anne Hathaway, Eva Longoria, Halle Berry and Jessica Chastain.

Step 1: Gaze Breath-taking bedroom eyes are sure to melt with a sweep of any one of these shadows. Concentrate on applying the shade to your lid and blend upwards into your crease.  This will create the perfect fade and look naturally flawless. Try: Jouer’s “pink champagne” powder eye shadow and for a touch of contour you can sweep a purple/taupe”amaretto” in the crease following the natural arc of your eye socket. Blend, blend, blend.  Extra tip:  dot a tiny bit of a pearly lighter shadow in the inner corner of your eye to really add limelight drama Jouer’s “buttercream” is an excellent option.

Step 2: Illuminate Luminous glowing, skin-wearing makeup doesn’t have to mean looking like you do.  Focus on camouflaging any imperfections with your choice of skin tone appropriate concealer but, before you do, create the perfect blend:  add one part facial moisturizer (a nickel size will do), and the same amount of your usual foundation mix and finger apply (the warming of your hands will melt the mix into your skin with a dewy result.  *Not a foundation wearer, use your tinted moisturizer for the same effect. Try: Dr. Gross’s “All-In-One Tinted Moisturizer “

Step 3: Blush Cupids Blushing Cheeks Cream Blushes are the way to go! Combat the natural dryness of winter on your skin with a cream or gel blush. These products will impart a natural flush to your skin, are you blushing? Try: Armani’s “Blushing Fabric” #3 “Shimmering Apricot Pink” – this perfect blend of pinky and peachy tones works well with most skin types for a flawless flush and a touch of dew.

Step 4: Glow! – Warming your skin with a bronzer that has a subtle sheen can not only give you the bronzed screen goddess look, but also can be used to contour. Double Bonus Try: Bobbi Brown’s “Aruba” warming the sides of your forehead then arching under each of your cheek bones and finally sweeping the brush across your jaw line. The subtle glow imparted in this formula is sure to shout red carpet screen siren. For a more matte option to compliment your shimmering blush, Try: Makeup Forever’s “Mat Bronze” in #20.

Step 5: Pucker Cupid is sure to melt with a sinfully puckered pout.  Glossy goopy lips are of yester yorn, instead create a tinted pout with your choice of Moisturizing lipstick then tap your lips with your index finger to create a just bitten effect. Try: Jemma Kidd’s “lip and cheek stain” – a quick slip of this will add an ethereal angel effect for my more natural beauties. For the lipstick mavens, Try: Revlon’s Moon Drops Lipstick “Rose Berry”.  An oldie, but a goodie, these are the hollywood classic colors to aim for.  Run to the drug store and pick up Wet n’ Wild’s “Smokin’ Hot Pink/Rose” as a fabulous on-the-go option.

Finally, finish your look with your favorite mascara making sure you brush through your lashes-refuse the clumps and add a super fluffy look to your lashes. If mild shine control is necessary, sweep your translucent powder focusing only on the t-zone.

It’s Crack Prevention 101…

bfd blog 7 updated_02

– Lips:  try Aquaphor Lip Repair (www.drugstore.com) for the lips.  It’s super-moisturizing and can even be rubbed around noses and cuticles.

Body:  try bathing with Aveeno Active Naturals Soothing Bath Treatment (www.walgreens.com).  Try this all natural oatmeal bath two times a week and really linger in relaxation to help heal your skin.  Moms!  What a nice treat!  Pat dry with a towel.

* On-the-go:  Try my favorite moisturizing bathing wash for your quick paced lifestyle: Eucerin Calming Body Wash “Daily Shower Oil” (www.soap.com).  Infused with omega oils, this cleanser treats dry skin with lasting moisture and never leaves an oily residue. Fragrance and soap-free, sensitive skins will rejoice! Also, try lathering this on a loofa for dual action cleansing moisturizing and exfoliation.

Hand/Body Lotion: elephant for mailer

* Eucerin “Plus Intensive Repair Enriched Lotion” both relieves dry, stressed and itchy skin. You know how much I love all-in-one products, so here’s a great body lotion that helps exfoliate and nourish your skin with alpha hydroxy. The non-greasy and fragrance free formula compliments any winter regimen!

* Back to Naturals: Customize your Body Lotion to your favorite scents. At home you can create the perfect combination of  1 cup Sweet Almond oil, 1/4 cup jojoba oil with few drops of lavender and rose (to taste) to calm and protect sensitive skin.  For a nice make-at-home-body-oil which smells great too and makes you feel ultra-feminine. Insider tip: stick with the concentrated PURE essential blends of these oils. Oils cut with other ingredients don’t pack the same holistic punch. (www.vitacost.com)

* Overly Parched?  I love to rotate my days with a little Emu Oil.  This holistic remedy not only treats dry skin and increases elasticity, it also heals it! This stuff is even reported to soothe psoriasis and eczema and scar reduction.  It works!  Jump out of a moderate temperature shower and apply sparingly. (www.montanaemuranch.com)

Face Wash:

* Aveeno-“Ultra Calming Foaming Cleaner” is moisturizing and healing and a good one for roseacea/psorasis, with a natural calming agent similar to Chamomile. Lift away impurities while sustaining gorgeous hydrated skin! Love the bubbly foam. (www.drugstore.com)

* Cetaphil “Gentle Cleanser”. Dye, soap, and frangrance-free, this cleaner is for the most sensitive of skins, helping to retain moisture too! (www.drugstore.com)

Face Moisturizer:

* Try Philosophy’s “Hope in a Jar”.  If you like this, you can get it on HSN/QVC for killer prices.  Purchase the original formula as this will help heal, treat and promote skin turnover (www.sephora.com).  “Hope in a Jar” is free of those chemical irritating ingredients often found in our moisturizers, yet offers protectant antioxidants and exfoliating properties and preps the skin for a sustainable glow!  Whipped like your favorite sweet treat, this is a luxurious staple for me.

* Korres “Wild Rose 34-Hour Moisturizing and Brightening Cream” moisturizes, brightens and contains wild rose oil (super healing and restorative) as well as vitamin C.  This is a “FREE” formula!  Check out the label to be wowed with the natural ingredients and smell the jar for the most soothing natural scent of rose.  To die for!  This is a great cream and I hope you like it as much as I do! (www.sephora.com)

KEEP ME POSTED WITH YOUR RESULTS!!

P.S.   Water is an essential need for hydration both inside and out.  Make sure you drink your daily requirement.  Also, try a humidifier to help combat itchy skin as well as ensure sinus relief.  Moisture in the air maintains healthy sinuses as well as radiant skin and hair.
